President and CEO, Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego
Pragmatic, mission-driven leader whose career has spanned the private, public and nonprofit sectors. Recently joined the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego as President and CEO. Previously, I served as President/CEO of Pacific Community Ventures a hybrid for-profit/nonprofit organization dedicated to driving investment in underserved communities. Under my leadership, PCV launched a small business loan fund, scaled a small business advisory service nationally, built a nationally recognized consulting practice in assessing and communication the social impacts of investments and built a global reputation as a thought leader in impact investing. Having decided in late 2014 that it was time for a change, I lead the leadership transition process, onboarded a new CEO and left PCV in September 2015.
I am passionate about the idea that business can be profitable, sustainable AND a force for positive social change. My skill set spans leadership, management, and all aspects of marketing/business development. A data-driven decision-maker, I have substantial research and analysis skills. I have significant experience in financial services, economic development, small business finance and development, impact investing and in creating and assessing social impact.
I'm proud to have received the 2015 James Irvine Foundation California Leadership Award, to have been named to Forbes' list of 30 Top Social Entrepreneurs in 2012 and to the San Francisco Business Times' list of Most Influential Women in Business in 2013.
